Spring training game

Okay, this is going really far back as spring training is in March. Oops. Although I guess in my defense we did start looking for a house in February, so between then and when we moved in May was pretty crazy.

We went to a Brewers spring training game with our friends Dustee and Steve one afternoon. It was a gorgeous day for a baseball game! We went to the Brewers stadium and had a fantastic afternoon sitting out in the sun.

Will waiting for the game to start:

P-Bill comes to visit

John's dad, whom Will calls P-Bill, came to visit us for a weekend when the Phoenix Coyotes were playing the Detroit Red Wings in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. John and his dad got to go to a couple hockey games, and the boys had fun playing with their Texas grandpa.

Swimming with Dustee

I recently went through all of our pictures and made a list of blog posts I wanted to get caught up on since I haven't been good about them over the past few months.

I think it was late April or early May that my friend Dustee came to Phoenix for a few days for work. She was nice enough to invite the boys and me over to her hotel for a swim. She would have invited John, too, but he had to work. Hahaha...sucker! She stays at a really nice resort when she comes to town, and since it wasn't really swimming season yet (even though it was pretty warm out), we had most of the pool to ourselves. It was so fun! Dustee had been out about a month prior to that and bought Will and Miles a bunch of pool toys that time, so we took them along with us and fun diving for dive toys and squirting each other with squirt guns.

Oh, and I used our waterproof camera in the water for the first time! Exciting!!

Our 4th of July trip

For the 4th of July weekend my mom rented a cabin for all of us in Payson, a small town in northern AZ that's only about a two hour drive from Phoenix. It's amazing that we can drive such a short distance and be in an area full of pine trees and cooler temperatures!! We had a great time. The cabin was fantastic, right on a creek that the kids could play in, and the whole yard was fenced so they got to run around like the crazy little monkeys they are. Will caught three rainbow trout at a nearby trout farm. Our friends Greg and Jen and their twin baby daughters came up to spend the day with us on Sunday. It was great! We spent most of the time hanging out on the patio of the cabin that looked out onto the creek. We can't wait to go back!
