Will's New Car Seat

Will was just about too big for his convertible car seat, so I ordered him a new "big boy" car seat and it was delivered earlier this week. He loves it, and he looks so big sitting in it!

By the way, kids should stay in a harness car seat for as long as possible. This new one we got Will can harness up to 65 pounds! Also, the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) recently came out and said that kids should stay rear-facing in their car seats until they are two years old. Really it's best to keep them rear-facing until they reach the rear-facing weight limit, which in a lot of car seats is 35 pounds. I wish I wouldn't have turned Will forward facing when he turned one, but I didn't know as much then as I do now. Miles will definitely stay forward facing until he reaches the seat's weight limit.

Sleeping Baby

Miles was laying on the floor playing earlier this week and started to fuss while I was eating my lunch. But by the time I finished eating he was quiet. I walked over to find him sleeping on the blanket! It was too cute!

(And, yes, he can roll over if he needs to so I'm not worried about him falling asleep on his tummy)

Easter

We had a fun time on Easter this year. Will and Miles each had two Easter baskets--one from us and one from Doo (Ryan). Will had fun finding his baskets and then proceeded to eat nothing but candy all morning. When we got home from church he went on an egg hunt around our living room, then we had Easter dinner at my mom's house.

Miles and Myles

My friend Laura had a baby about two weeks after I did, and we both named our babies Miles, although hers is Myles. We were at our friend JoEllen's baby shower a couple weeks ago, and she got a picture of Miles and Myles together. MK and MC. :) They're getting big SO FAST!!

Myrtle Beach

We spent the last week of March in Myrtle Beach, SC with my mom and aunt. Both boys did amazingly well on the flights (Phoenix to Atlanta, then Atlanta to Myrtle Beach), people even told us as we were getting off the plane how good they'd both been. What a relief! We were only able to go to the beach twice because the weather wasn't very good. But we did a lot of other fun stuff like taking a day trip to Charleston, SC and Fort Sumter, visiting an aquarium, playing mini golf with Will for the first time, and taking a trip to North Carolina to take Miles to urgent care. I count us pretty blessed that with all the trips we've taken this was the first time we've had to seek medical attention while traveling. He just had some bug bites, so it was easily treated. John got to play a ton of golf while we were there which he loved.

Rice Cereal Videos

Here's one of Will feeding Miles...sorry, I thought the first one had that on there!

Rice Cereal

Miles had his first taste of rice cereal last night. He was pretty skeptical of it at first, but by the end he was grabbing for the spoon and bowl! And he slept eight hours straight after eating it--woo hoo!!

Miles and Baba

I think this was the same day as the spring training game. We went to visit my dad before my birthday dinner. He loves getting to see Miles. Well, and Will but this time I just took Miles with me.

Fire Station Tour

My MOMS Club group recently went on a tour of our local fire station. The kids had a great time hearing the sirens from the fire truck, aiming the fire house, seeing where the fire fighters sleep and eat. The last time we did one of these tours was almost two years ago I think it was, so Will was really too little to enjoy it.

Spring Training Game

My mom kept Will for the night a couple weekends ago, and on Sunday afternoon before going to her house for my birthday dinner John and I went to a spring training game, with Miles of course. It was a beautiful day for it. That's one of the big perks of living in AZ--gorgeous spring weather and spring training baseball!

Catch Up

How do I always get so far behind in our blog? Oh yeah...I take forever to upload pictures from the camera and then even longer to post them here or put them online. I have it on my to do list for today to get caught up...or at least try to!
