Pics from the week

We've had a fun week but nothing too eventful. I had to take Will to the doctor on Monday for a rash he kept getting on his chest. Usually it would be gone in the morning, so I hadn't called his doctor, but it was there Monday so we went in. She said it was just a heat rash, so we've really been limiting his time outside. Unfortunately we had to miss out on lunch with my friends Denise and Rebecca and their kids.

Tomorrow Will is supposed to go to my mom's to spend the night while John and I have a fun night away at a resort in Scottsdale. But, it's up in the air right now whether or not we'll be able to do it, so keep your fingers crossed. We figure if nothing else, my aunt can watch Will during the day so we can at least go hang out at the pool and use our free money since it's too late to cancel the reservation. But it would be fun to get a real date night out of it because we also wanted to see the new Batman movie.

Tuesday we had a MOMS Club event at our house...a scrapbooking day. I brought down our baby activity center for my friend Laura's daughter to play in while they were here. I hadn't taken it back upstairs yet, and I walked into the living room Wednesday to find Will in it! Goofy kid.

I also got a new lens for my camera. I'm so excited for it. I played around with it a bit on Tuesday taking pics of Will and Cindy Lou. I need to find some stationary subjects to try it out on I think. :)

John wanted to play when he got home from work and took a pic of me:

Weekend recap

Wow, what a fun and eventful weekend we've had! Friday morning was Will's last day of swim lessons. He did great!! Then after swimming we went to the AZ All Stars Gym with MOMS Club. I remembered to take my camera but didn't remember to carry it around with me. Oops! I did get a picture of Will and Connor holding hands on the way there which was pretty funny...Connor hates it unless Will asks if he can hold Connor's hand! :)

Yesterday we had a busy day. In the morning we went to Will's friend Tyson's birthday party. Will had fun playing with his friends and eating pizza and cake!

Will and his friends Nathaniel, Dylan, and Connor

Having pizza with Josh and Emily (at swim lessons on Friday Will said, "I like Emily!")

Watching the fish with Daddy and Tyson

Having some birthday cake with Josh

After naptime yesterday we went over to our friends Greg and Jen's house (Connor's parents) for some swimming and dinner. Jen made quite the feast for us, and the boys had fun swimming and showing off what they learned at swim lessons and then playing with all of Connor's toys. Somehow the mommies and daddies got roped into cleaning up the play room instead of the kids...not sure how that happened!

Now today we've just hung out at home. Will's still adjusting to his big boy bed (or at least that's what I hope it is!!) and was up at 6:00 this morning! Mommy doesn't like getting up that early, so I took a 90 minute nap when we got home from church. After Will's nap (again, shorter than it used to be in the crib!) he and John went out in the backyard to play some golf:

This coming week is pretty busy with a trip to the east valley tomorrow for lunch with some friends we haven't seen in awhile, scrapbooking on Tuesday, and a trip to the mall on Thursday!

Here it is...

Here's Will's big boy bedroom in all its glory. He's been doing great sleeping in it at night, although he gets scared when we first leave him alone in there at bedtime. Today was his first real nap in it (yesterday he had fallen asleep on the way home from a play date, so it was easy to just lay him down in it), and it didn't go so well. He finally fell asleep after screaming for 45 minutes, but only once I sat in the chair in there. Hopefully this stops soon!!

The right side of some of the pictures is cut off, but I'm too lazy to go through and fix them right now.

Big Boy Bed

Tomorrow's the day!! Will's big boy bedroom furniture will be here between 1:00 and 5:00. John and I just cleared out the room and moved the furniture into Baby Lando's room (again, not baby's real name!!). It looks so weird in there. I FINALLY found a picture online of the new furniture, not sure if this will work to link it, but I'll try:

I'll post some more pictures tomorrow or Sunday once everything is straightened up in there! I also went and got him new big boy bedding today:

His nursery bedding was airplanes, and a good friend of mine made some really nice airplane wall hangings for me/him, and I wanted to keep those up. I was glad to find a set that had airplanes in it so we could still use them.

Will's spending the night at Gaga's tonight, so his big boy bedroom will be all ready for him tomorrow night when he gets home. He was so excited! Every night this past week when he'd be going to bed he'd say, "No crib, Mommy. Will's big boy bed?" One night he even said "Will sleep on floor, Mommy?" Hopefully the transition goes well!!

Big shopping day!

Phew...did we spend some money today! We went shopping for a big boy bedroom set for Will! We found one we really liked and ordered it. Unfortunately the store's website doesn't have it pictured, so I'll post pictures once we get it in a couple weeks.

From there we went to Babies R Us and got a bedding set for Baby Lando (no, that's not going to be his name!). I had a hard time deciding between this one and one I liked from Pottery Barn Kids, but I had to make a decision and this was it:

I think it will be really cute. Home Depot has paint on sale this weekend, so I need to hurry up and decide how to paint. I'm thinking vertical stripes in either two of the shades of green or vertical stripes in one shade but alternating flat and glossy paint. I love how that looks! I'm leaning more towards that one.

I was 20 weeks on Thursday, by the way--halfway!! This baby's going to be here before I know it. I had a bit of a panic attack the other day worrying about what all needed to get done and when and how, but after making a few lists I felt a lot better. His bedroom should be mostly done at least here in a couple weeks, so that will be a huge thing to cross off the list!

Hope everyone's enjoying the holiday weekend!
